It corresponds to the Hebrew letter Lamed in the Hebrew Alphabet. The letters in the Aramaic Alphabet are almost identical to those in Hebrew, but have slightly different names and sometimes slightly different sounds. Here is what the Aramaic letter Lamad looks like: ![]() Here is how to write Lamad: ![]() Lamad is pronounced with an l sound, like the words Laban, lame or leave. Lamad has the Gematria (numerical value) of 30. You will notice that the numerical values of the Aramaic letters now go from 10 to 90 (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90).
